And then there were two! Wayward Souls is out in the UK today!!
When I set out to write Wayward Souls, in the wake of Strange Beasts, I knew I wanted Samantha Harker (daughter of Dracula’s killer) to be forced to reckon with a world that’s not black and white, to go too far, to get tangled in the mystery of her grandfather’s disappearance, and, as a recovering people pleaser, to learn what it is to WANT.
I wanted Dr. Helena Moriarty (daughter of yes that Moriarty) to be forced to reckon with the things she did when she was her father’s creature, to lose herself a little trying to outplay him, and to learn what it feels like to be wanted.
And I even wanted Jakob Van Helsing to gain a little more depth! To uncover why he is…the way he is.
All of this led, naturally, to Ireland, to ghosts, and to everything else.
I’m so grateful this gothic, supernatural mystery series found its readers! Thank you for all of your support!! I hope you enjoy it <3.
