Happy one year of Strange Beasts!
It was such a whirlwind ride to publication! From the call from my agent, Jen Azantian, that we’d sold to Calah Singleton at Hodderscape, and then shortly after to Kathryn Budig of the Inky Phoenix imprint of Bindery Books. To the epic group chat with the other Bindery authors (happy one year Tiffany Wang, Kay Synclaire, and S. Hati!) and the discord with the Inky Phoenix Book Club. To getting the call that I was going to get a special edition from Bindery with sprayed edges, and then a special edition from Goldsboro Books, and going through twelve pens signing tip-ins and bookplates. To the amazing launch party in NYC, where I cried the “waterproof” eyeliner that took me an hour to get right off in 10 minutes (recommendations for eyeliner that stays put anyone??).
I will never get over walking into a bookstore and seeing Strange Beasts on the shelves, the incredible cosplay of my characters, or the emails from readers saying they feel seen. 💜 Thank you all for reading, sharing it with your friends, and everything I’m forgetting. You all are the best!
